Delightful two bedroom holiday let, renovated in 2020, in a rural hamlet in the north-west of the Dordogne close to Eygurande-et-Gardedeuil. Fantastic base for cycling & walking or just getting away in the countryside of south west France. Well thought through property and facilities, with exclusive use of a 12m in-ground heated pool, multi-purpose pickleball court (new for 2026!) and other leisure amenities. 15 mins from the towns of Montpon-Ménestérol and La Roche Chalais, and just over an hour to Bordeaux and Bergerac airports.
A holiday in the Périgord Blanc is an experience not to be missed.
Situated in the heart of “la Foret de La Double” Gite le Bost is the perfect place for you to experience a wonderful family holiday in this rural but charming area.
Secluded but not far from amenities the gite works brilliantly both for
families with children and adults alike.
The gite has a large, contemporary, open plan, living, dining and fully equipped kitchen area. There are two bedrooms – one double, one twin - plus a spacious, fully tiled, shower room. We have scope to offer an additional double bedroom and bathroom in the adjacent barn; please enquire!
Outside you will find a terrace with table and seating for four where you can BBQ and relax in the evening after a refreshing swim in the heated 12m x 5m pool.
The garden with heated swimming pool, boule piste, multi-purpose pickleball/short tennis court (silent ball), football, badminton and garden chess/draughts is the perfect spot for parents to relax by the pool while the children run off steam.
The large indoor leisure area guarantees that, no matter what the weather does, there are always plenty of activities to keep everyone amused. Variety of games, including table tennis, train track and Duplo.
Accessing the nearby network of cycling and walking routes in the forest is always enjoyable as is the fun of a canoe ride along the river L’Isle.
The region is rich with history, architecture, gastronomy, wine and of course the local markets.
Visiting some of the small towns and villages with their wonderful buildings and fabulous restaurants serving local produce and wines of the region is a real pleasure.

SOME DETAILS ABOUT THE GITE
The gite offers two bedrooms and a bathroom (with walk-in shower, sink, WC) downstairs, and a large open plan kitchen and living room upstairs. The property and its terrace are south west facing.
The kitchen is well equipped with crockery, glasses, pots and pans and kitchen utensils. There is a microwave, kettle, fridge (with freezer compartment), toaster, dishwasher, oven and hob, and a table with seating for four. There is outdoor seating and table for eating, along with a sun parasol and BBQ. The owners are happy to assist if they can with any extra items that may be required to ensure your enjoyment is maximised!
The living room area has a large two-person sofa, two chairs, coffee table, bookshelves (with a selection of books, which you are welcome to swap with your own) and large television. The TV offers all freeview channels, both Continental and UK, as well as a DVD player (DVD selection available), or via the HDMI connector should you wish to connect your own device (subject to you having the right connectors). Boardgames are also available.
The master bedroom has a large double bed, bedside drawer units and adequate hanging and shelf space. The second bedroom has two single beds, bed side tables and some hanging/drawer space. Linen and towels are provided. A hair dryer is also available.
The gite has electric heaters in all rooms, and fans are provided for summer. A washing machine is situated in the bathroom.
A welcome pack awaits your arrival and includes items such as bread, butter, milk, pasta, tomato sauce, tea & coffee, cereal – and some local wine. By separate arrangement, the owners are happy to host a home-cooked meal on the day of your arrival, or during your stay.
Adjacent to the gite is a secure shed that is suitable for storing bikes overnight. Parking is directly in-front of the property on the drive (to which guests have exclusive use of).
Swimming pool – the gite is alongside the owner's 12m in-ground, heated, salt chlorinated swimming pool (which is covered by a safety cover) to which they offer guests of the gite exclusive use (11am-7pm, or subject to prior arrangement), along with the adjacent sun terrace, boules piste and table tennis table.
For those travelling with children there is an array of both indoor and outdoor activities to keep them amused whatever the weather. There is a large indoor leisure area in the renovated barn adjoining the gite with double doors overlooking the pool and a large grassed area for ball games including football goals.
The gite benefits from Wi-Fi, but the connection can also be intermittent and typically runs at c.1-1.5 Mbps. Usually fine for email, web-browsing & Facetime/Zoom/Voip calling, but not that reliable for rapid downloading/streaming.
The property is adjacent to a local, country road, which is not heavily used. This is typically very quiet, with the odd activity of a car or farm vehicle.

We're a retired couple who spend much of the year in France. We have recently completed a barn conversion creating a wonderful new gite, which we are listing here! We speak English and French.
We live onsite in our house situated behind the gite and are available as needed for issues, questions… or a glass of wine! We recognise this is your holiday and give you as much space and privacy as you’d like.
There is a handbook in the gite which details everything you need to know for your stay as well as a selection of tourist leaflets and walking trail maps.
We would be delighted to answer any questions in advance of your booking, or to consider any special arrangements you may need!

This is the third time we have stayed at Gite Le Bost. There’s a reason we keep coming back! The setting is just beautiful. Far enough away from hustle and bustle that you can truly unwind. Yet, a short drive to top up on groceries. So many wonderful vineyard to visit and about 35 mins away from the absolutely stunning St. Emillion. The hosts Rod and Margaret have thought of absolutely everything. The pool is perfect for a family and the grounds offer so much to do, whatever your age! Thoroughly recommend. Can’t wait to return!

Truly wonderful break - the perfect French summer holiday. From the moment we arrived we felt at home; the Gite is well equipped with everything we needed. We loved using the pool area it really is a special place. The Gite’s facilities are endless, so much fun to be had with all the games and toys for our little boy. A fabulous swimming pool in a magical setting.
The Gite has a staircase but a stair gate was fitted to ensure child safety. Changing facilities and high chair were also available.
The leisure area in the barn is a dream both for children and adults alike.
Everything was in place for a successful holiday with hosts who merited the journey.
Perhaps some insect screens and a mattress topper [topper now provided!] would have been nice but these small details were soon forgotten with the warm welcome we received from our hosts.

Exceptional stay in an exceptional setting. I left with the aim of offering myself a stay to recharge my batteries: the effect was guaranteed. The lodging is very nice arranged in a building with character. But what about the garden with swimming pool, it's magnificent! Everything is planned to spend privileged moments with bowling alley, ping-pong table and many other games for children ... in a magnificent green setting. A stay to be redone !!!

What a wonderful stay. We found Le Bost a fantastic base for day trips out, including the surprisingly easy 2 hr drive to Lacanau beach for some Atlantic waves and great surfing. The place was so clean and tidy, and Rod and Nan were terrific hosts with lots of suggestions and tips - and we enjoyed a fabulous meal served by them on our final night. So nice to have a warm pool too!
